fromkeetra

From Keetra :: A wealth of beautiful, playful and wonder-inducing design work from Keetra Dean Dixon. Also check out her interview on Cranbrookdesign.com.

cranbrook posters

Cranbrook Posters :: More from Cranbrook. 11 departmental identity posters designed by Designer-in Residence Elliott Earls. Meticulous, twisted, disgusting, absurd, just plain wrong, beautiful and inspiring…

type_theory

Typetheory :: A smart, new(ish), type blog from Ty Wilkins. Though I’ve seen much of the featured work elsewhere on the interweb, it’s nice to have it so elegantly collected in one place.

lettermade

Lettermade :: An amazing documentary photography collection of vernacular American signage. It isn’t clear how exactly, but the project is associated to the Chattanooga design studio Widgets & Stone, a studio I’ve really admired for quite some time. Check their Singing to the Deaf project for an example of why.

holzer

Jenny Holzer :: A review of Jenny Holzer’s current show at the Whitney brought me to her personal site featuring stunning black and white photographs of her projections dating back to 1996 and featuring 37 cities. Holzer was a big influence on me back in my student days, and I’m glad to see now, with a keener typographic eye, that she’s never used Helvetica (or anything other than Futura Condensed Bold for that matter).

poster

Power to the Poster :: Power to the Poster is a “graphic design democracy project” offering over 100 posters for download (including my Gaza Poster) dealing with issues of social change. This is a great project started by progressive designer Justin Kemerling over at the Match Factory.

griffioen

James D. Griffioen :: Beautiful, peculiar and timeless photos of the urban environment by this Detroit based photographer and writer.
