For the ninth issue of Four Minutes to Midnight, we sent out a call for submissions with the tentative theme of “conflict and silence” and were happy to receive responses that explored this relationship through personal and autobiographical perspectives. Gathering these together alongside numerous fragments found along the way, the issue was crafted over the course of a year in the margins of our days and nights. It was truly a labour of love to produce and we hope that it shows…
Featuring the work of over 25 contributors, FMTM 9 is filled with 112 pages of radical textual & visual stimulation. Without a doubt, our sexiest issue yet!
The issue will be launched this weekend at lab.synthese, with musical guests Parlovr, Flames! and American Devices.
As always, many thanks to all the contributors:
Celia & Tavish, Kajin Goh, Billy Mavreas, Erica Ruth Kelly, Cozmos Quazar, Vincent Tinguely, F.A. Nettelbeck, Hilary Schaenfield, Amber Goodwyn, Shawnda Wilson, Maria Mavrig, Greg Tyce, Jason Lewis, Nadia Nespeca, Nadia Myre, Christopher David Ryan, JP King & Kyla Chevrier, Chris Heldt, Brigitte Henry, Catherine Rizzetto, Derek Beaulieu, Jean-Sébastien Day, Pascal Quimper, Lindsay Foran, Jason Gillingham, Dan Waber, and Colin White.

We rebooted our computing for the first time seeming since issue 8, lo, to find number 9 waiting down for loading. Happy to look at scrolling in anticipation to read and look further now. Happy also to see that writings on the death and non death of punk are not dead. We wonder, and so to ask before looking further to confirm — What of issue #10 or X? How will we presume? Will John answer me that then? For now, I shall deshelf our waterlogged hard paper copy of #8 for to be feeling hefty tactile paper underfinger as I gaze upon its future screening of #9, wishing mightily to know, as mr. oliver does, congratulations Kevin! How can I get one?
Perhaps there may be a leak in the plumbing in the direction of where the copies are stored, happiliy rendering one unto me.
