Logo designed for Open Orchestra, a McGill based research project developing an innovative orchestra simulator for musicians. I worked closely with interaction designer Adriana Olmos, attempting to distill the essence of such a complex project into a simplified form.
Many different approaches were explored, but in the end we went with a design inspired from (even an hommage to) Josef Müller Brockmann’s famous Zurich Tonhalle poster from 1956. The reference to music, movement, and modernity was a perfect fit for Open Orchestra. As the project develops, I’m looking forward to helping Adriana out with the interface design for the software and its promotion.
