For Expozine this year, I’ve reissued a run of my WU-TANG C.R.E.A.M. diptych, letterpress printed in gold ink on thick black cardstock by Kiva Stimac at Popolo Press. This edition is printed on her new letterpress, and the imprint is slightly deeper, giving it more relief and emphasizing the epitaph metaphor of the design.
These were orignally made for Artivistic’s Promiscuous Infrastructures exhibition, as a meditation on art and labour, an exploration of how the material form of language can transform meaning, and of course as an earnest tribute to one of my favourite songs. The verses by Raekwon and Inspectah Deck still hit home.
If you can’t make it to Expozine, but would still like to get your hands on a set, you can purchase it below through paypal. The prints are slightly smaller than American letter-sized and would look very nice framed or mounted. The type is set in Linotype Optima, full of it’s own subtle references for the type-geeks amongst us.
